Irrigation Design & Planning
We work closely with our clients to come up with efficient and cost-effective solutions. Our firm produces irrigation designs across western Canada, however being based in Kelowna, we are continually challenged by the hot climate and drought conditions. We are forced to adapt and find solutions to ensure that we can apply the right amount of water across a given area during a specific water window.
Why Choose Us?
As irrigation designers, we have an extensive knowledge of irrigation products, best practices, and ease of maintenance which is reflected on our plans. We believe that the ability to maintain a system is just as important as how the system functions. We choose products that emit water efficiently and that are durable under several conditions. Our plans are easy to follow and provide clear and concise instructions.
Services
Irrigation Design
We produce certified irrigation plans that use up to date methods and layouts to ensure that a new system uses water efficiently, can operate within a prescribed water window, and reflects methods and procedures that ease the maintenance of that system. Our designs incorporate technologies to ensure remote operation, on-site weather sensing, and water usage measurements.
As-Built Drawings
We work with clients to produce as-built drawings of new and existing systems to aid with the maintenance and operation of these systems. Sprinklers, valves, controllers, and pipe networks are all mapped out on easy to read scaled drawings.
Inspections
We conduct ongoing inspections of irrigation systems while they are installed to ensure that the system is installed to the satisfaction of the client and meets the specifications laid out in the contract. This helps the project along as challenges and changes are inevitable and the contractor can receive timely answers and direction when needed.
Specifications
We create irrigation specifications that provides the expectations and standards for new irrigation systems. This helps ensure that new systems are installed to a consistent standard, with steps in place to ensure mainline pressure tests, operation tests, and coverage tests are conducted. This is an important step in raising the standards of irrigation installations so that dollars are not spent repairing new systems.
Irrigation Audits & Assessments
Water Plan It conducts assessments of irrigation systems to identify the location and condition of irrigation components. Water Plan It documents the types of sprinklers, operating pressure, water source, and controller information and the condition of each item. Soil types are analyzed and a report is generated for a system tune up. This followed by an audit which uses catch cans that are laid across an area to measure the distribution uniformity and precipitation rate of the sprinklers being tested. This generates a report with important information about how efficiently water is used and scheduling information for operators to create an accurate schedule.
Water Use Estimation
Water Plan It conducts water use modelling for feasibility studies. This provides the basis for analysis to use recycled water or to use potable water.
